As part of our Summer of Revelation series, “The Right of the Sword” explores Revelation 2:12–17, where Jesus speaks to the church in Pergamos, a church that remained faithful under persecution yet tolerated dangerous compromise. This message challenges us to rightly handle God’s Word—not using it to justify our own desires, but allowing it to expose, correct, and transform our hearts. When we submit to the authority of Christ and wield the Sword of the Spirit as He intended, we overcome deception, remain faithful in tribulation, and receive the promises reserved for those who endure.
It’s possible to be connected to religion and still miss relationship with Jesus.
Through John 8:37–45, we see how the wrong connection can lead to deception, while true intimacy with Christ leads to freedom. This message challenges us to examine what voices are shaping our lives and discover how the Spirit of Truth breaks the lies that keep us from experiencing all God has for us.
