Does Connect Church have a Board?
Yes we do. Connect Church is a non-profit organization that requires a Board to function properly within the law. We also believe that biblically this group of people should give guidance to the vision and development of the local body. Over the years we have had the privilege of having many godly people invest their time, wisdom, and energy into being a part of this guiding force. In January of 2010 we began to transition toward a larger scope of influence for our Board. Recently, we have completed that transition and held our first Board meeting in August 2011. That meeting included both local members of Connect Church as well national and international Board members in order to form the Connect Church Board. These national and international leaders are skilled church developers with years of experience in growing churches which will add a wealth of wisdom and insight to the leadership of Connect Church. Each of our Board members are dedicated to the health, growth, and development of our church vision.
In addition to our church Board we also have two distinct Executive Campus Advisory Teams (one for Cherry Hill and one for Philadelphia) which give wisdom and input to each campus. These teams consist of dedicated people from each campus which help give guidance specific to the needs of each campus. Considering that each campus location will have its own various areas of development, need, and outreach opportunities, this team is essential to see the consistency of the vision lived out in each campus expression. These team members serve in their area of expertise and bring that added value for the benefit of our church family.
Does Connect Church have accountability?
Yes it does. We believe in accountability in three distinct areas: financial, ethical, and theological. In conjunction with the Board whose role it is to oversee these areas, and the Campus Advisory Teams, Connect Church has taken even further steps to add accountability to our body. We have a fully certified CPA who runs our financial department, we voluntarily submit ourselves to a full audit review of our finances yearly from an outside company, and we belong to Wave network.
